Cyclone Tracy

In 1974, a category four cyclone, struck Darwin in the Northern Territory that devistated the city from Christmas Eve to christmas day. It remains Australia's most destructive cyclone with winds of around 250 kilometres per hour. Seventy-one people were killed, and many thousands injured. 25,000 people out of a population of 43,000 were left homeless, according to the australian government.

Cyclone Tracy attacked the city of darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. The ESSA-8 Satellite showed evidencde of the cyclone forming near 8° south and longitude 135° east.
